15 ways to get your work done efficiently

Like thousands of professionals around the world, you try your best to stay organized, come to meetings on time and still spend countless hours at work to keep your company moving forward.

Most of us strive to do more and more things in less time, but since none of us can add hours to our day (despite all our efforts), the best thing we can do in this situation is to try increase your productivity.

Nevertheless, by cruel irony, most “productivity enhancers,” such as the advice to go to the gym every morning, do not seem to contribute to our productivity, but adds one more thing to our already huge list of tasks.

Instead, try using a few of the hacks below, and the result will not be long in coming.
1. Pause your email and turn off the phone

If someone counted the time you spend every day answering emails, SMS and calls, you would be very surprised at the results.

If you need to complete a difficult task, then focus on it and get rid of distractions: disconnect the phone and pause your email.
2. Tidy up on your desktop

If your desktop is a mess, then the same chaos reigns in your head. A cluttered workplace will disorganize you, it becomes more difficult for you to focus on tasks, you can even feel panic when you look at the mountains of garbage that is scattered all over your table.

It doesn’t take so long to tidy up on your desktop, and a clean workplace will contribute to more efficient implementation of tasks.
3. Take the trouble to make yourself a to-do list for tomorrow

Many say that you need to live today and do what is important today, and "tomorrow will be tomorrow." And this is true.

But still, if you pre-compile a to-do list the next day, you will get some advantages, for example, your work the next day will be more streamlined, and at the moment you can calmly do today's affairs, without worrying and not wondering what you have to do tomorrow.
4. Create a new task execution system

Do you know why we get so tired at work so often? Because many of us often have to engage in the same type of work.

Organize your work day in a new way. Instead of spending several hours doing one thing, do this: devote 15 minutes to communication (calls, SMS, e-mail correspondence), spend the next 15 minutes doing simple tasks, and do the remaining 30 minutes to do complex tasks. And so every hour.

Of course, this is a fairly generalized scheme that requires certain adjustments for your professional sphere of activity, but you caught the main idea: do not let the routine drag you in, bring variety into your life even at work.
5. Take breaks for yourself, even if you have not completed the task

Breaks are crucial. Even a 10-minute rest can have the most beneficial effect on your productivity.

Usually we take breaks after we finish the task, but do not forget: if you are tired, a short rest will help you regain strength, and you can complete the task with the best result.

6. Break large and complex tasks into smaller ones

Large and complex tasks take us the most time, we very often hang on them. In order to make it easier for you to cope with a large task, break it into several small ones and evenly distribute your efforts - this will make things easier and faster.
7. Perform meaningless tasks during the break

Surely in your to-do list there will be such tasks that do not require any special effort or time consuming. Sometimes, fulfilling them, it seems to us that we spend valuable time on nonsense, and this is very disorganizing.

But there is good news: if you do not perceive these tasks as tasks in the literal sense of the word, then their implementation can help you rest and relax. Perform them on a break or before the start of your work day.
8. Turn off the Internet while you're doing business

No matter how passionate you are about the task at the moment, the Internet will always be a temptation for you. Even if you assure yourself that your interest is purely professional, you will still be distracted by something completely extraneous.

So, if you are busy with a task for which you do not need access to the World Wide Web, turn off the Internet for a while until you figure it out.

Why many do not like their job

Not everyone has such happiness - to engage in work that brings pleasure. Some people live counting days until Friday, telling everyone how this work got them. We spend almost a third of our lives at work, so why do so many people spend their time on activities that they consider useless or even hateful?
